The Minister for Trade, Industries ans Investment, Charles Mwijage officially opens the sixth Tanga International Trade Fair (TITF) today (Sunday). at the Mwahako Faair Grounds, in the Tanga City.
According to the Executive Secretary of the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA), Tanga, Charles Hoza, the fair being held with the theme of ‘Business as the key to Tanzania’s Industrialization strategy’ started here today (Saturday).
Hoza said that the so the response by companies and organizations that have confirmed to participate in the Fair has been good and they expect a better showing than previous years as industrialists continue to realize the importance of the Fair as a platform for marketing their products.
The fair is being organized jointly by the Tanzania Chamber for Industries, Commerce and Agriculture (TCCIA) Tanga , with important Stakeholders namely TANAPA, SIMBA CEMENT Plc, Tanzania Ports Authority – TPA, TTCL Corporation , NSSF, KATANI Ltd and the trade fair regulator - Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade).
Hoza said the is multi-sectoral because it promotes Trade and Investmentapart from having business, social, cultural and educational dimensions that are weaved together where visitors and exhibitors, media persons, marketing professionals, and Government Organisations can use this platform to spread awareness about their programmes and policies among the public.
The Fair organizers said that exhibitions would be made in several categories and services but not limited a wide range of products and services.
They include automobiles, Sisal products. Coir products, Textiles, Garments, Household appliances, Kitchen appliances, Processed food, Beverages, Confectionery, Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, Cosmetic and Bodycare & health care products.
Others are Telecommunication, Power sector, Electronic sector, Furniture, home furnishings, Sporting goods & toys, Cement production , Lime and lime products Engineering goods, Water supply and Sanitation, Financial Institutions, Social Security Funds, Health care and health insurance, Tourism and Hospitality and promotion of investment opportunities.
The Chairman of the Fair Preparations Committee, Paul Bwoki said that the fair would also be held in tandem with a Tourism promotion campaign that would involve TANAPA and a display of live animals which he said would be increase this year.
